Robin Hood's Bay

My students and I visited this beautiful area on the northeast coast of England. The distant background of this snapshot is Ravenscar, formerly a residence where King George III was left to garden when he was having some of his bouts of "confusion." There is a lovely hotel where we had one of the best meals of the trip. By the way, the origin of the name is a mystery. Sherwood Forest is quite far away.

We walked along the beach and we were easily able to find samples of tiny fossils in the shale rocks.
